QUETTA, Jul 10 (APP): Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) central senior leader Chaudhry Naeem Karim on Wednesday said that federal government under leadership of Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif was taking all possible measures to provide relief to the people in the country.
In statement issued here, he said that the relief package of Rs, 50 billion for 94 percent of Pakistan’s domestic electricity consumers by the Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif and the transfer of Balochistan’s agricultural tube wells to solar energy were positive initiatives.
Chaudhry Naeem Karim said that the PM has taken out 50 billion rupees from the development budget and used up to 200 units of electricity to provide relief to the poor and inflation-stricken people saying that this decision to provide relief of Rs 4 to 7 per unit to domestic consumers from July to September was a good move.
He said that the people get some relief due to reduction in electricity bills and inflation in summer.
He said that the decision to transfer more than 28,000 agricultural tube wells to solar energy within three months would further develop the agriculture sector in Balochistan by acknowledging the long-standing demand of the farmers of Balochistan. Conversion of agricultural tube wells to solar energy will help the farmers to ensure timely supply of water to the crops, he said.
Chaudhry Naeem Karim said that shifting the agricultural tube wells to solar energy would cost 55 billion rupees, out of which 70 percent could be paid by the federal government and 30 percent by the provincial government.
He said that the development of the agriculture sector in the province would not only provide employment opportunities to the people, but Pakistan could also be able to achieve self-sufficiency in agricultural products and this would increase our exports significantly.
