Anti-begging drive conducted in Mingora bazaar

PESHAWAR, Jul 09 (APP):The Swat social welfare department and the child protection team conducted an anti-begging drive in Mingora bazaar and surrounding areas, rescuing 12 children.
According to district administration, the operation was carried out on directives of Malakand Division Commissioner Saqib Raza Aslam and Swat Deputy Commissioner Shehzad Mahboob.
During the drive which was conducted with cooperation of police, 12 children were caught begging and transferred to Khpal Kor Foundation in Mingora for rehabilitation and to make them useful members of society.
Parents of these children were also summoned and warned to keep their children away from begging in the future.
The parents were made to sign affidavits, and they were informed that legal action would be taken against them in case of any violation.
So far, a total of 50 children have been transferred to Khpal Kor Foundation for rehabilitation.
Authorities have announced that this operation will continue in the future to protect children from social issues like begging and to provide them with a better life.
