RAWALPINDI, Jul 02 (APP):Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Engineer Aamir Khattak on Tuesday visited Jhelum and reviewed preparations for Muharram.
Chairing a meeting at the Deputy Commissioner office, the Commissioner reviewed the preparations for Muharram ul haram, Monsoon season and the progress on ongoing development projects.
Engineer Saeed Ahmed from Rescue-1122 briefed the meeting on contingency plans to address potential flood situations during the Monsoon.
Commissioner Aamir Khattak expressed satisfaction with the preparedness, emphasizing the need for coordination among all the departments to ensure public safety during the Monsoon season.
Deputy Commissioner Jhelum, Syeda Ramallah Ali apprised the Commissioner about district administration’s measures and preparations for Muharram.
She highlighted comprehensive security arrangements in place for the processions and gatherings to maintain peace and order.
Additionally, District Police Officer, Nasir Mehmood Bajwa briefed the Commissioner on security plans for Muharram processions and Majalis.
He assured that all sensitive areas would be provided tight security cover to prevent any untoward incident.
Aamir Khattak underscored the importance of providing foolproof security during Muharram events, directing the authorities to enhance their operational effectiveness.
He praised the administrative efforts and arrangements being finalized by District administration Jhelum.
Discussing developmental initiatives, the Commissioner emphasized the significance of timely completion of the ongoing projects in Jhelum for the welfare of the residents.
He directed all the departments to collaborate closely to ensure projects are completed within stipulated timeframe.
