Commissioner chairs DPC meeting to review arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi

RAWALPINDI, Sep 26 (APP): Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Liaquat Ali Chatta along with Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Syed Khurram Ali here on Tuesday chaired a Divisional Peace Committee (DPC) meeting to review security and administrative arrangements.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi Dr. Hasan Waqar Cheema, Additional Commissioner Coordination, Syed Nazarat Ali, Members of the Divisional Peace Committee, representatives of the departments concerned and Anjuman-e-Tajran.

The DCs of District Attock, Jhelum and Chakwal also attended the meeting through video link.

In the meeting, the administrative and security arrangements being finalized for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) were reviewed.

The Commissioner addressing the participants said Eid Milad-ul-Nabi would be celebrated in a befitting manner on Friday and all the arrangements were being finalized. The government buildings would be decorated beautifully, he added.

Foolproof arrangements would be made for the security of the Eid Milad-un-Nabi processions, he said adding, that instructions had been issued to the departments concerned to utilize all available resources and ensure best and efficient arrangements for Eid Milad-ul-Nabi.

The scholars have always promoted religious tolerance, the Commissioner said and urged the scholars to come forward and play a role in maintaining the atmosphere of brotherhood on the occasion of Eid Milad-ul-Nabi.

Seerat-ul-Nabi (PBUH) conferences would be organized at the district level under the supervision of the DCs, the Commissioner informed.

The religious scholars belonging to all schools of thought should participate in Sirat-ul-Nabi conferences, which would send a message of unity, the Commissioner added.

Negligence on the part of officials concerned would not be tolerated particularly in administrative and security matters on the occasion of Eid Milad-ul-Nabi, he warned.

He directed the Assistant Commissioners to convene the meetings of the peace committees at the tehsil level to review the administrative and security arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi.

The construction work on the routes of Eid Milad-ul-Nabi processions should be completed immediately, he directed the authorities concerned.

The RPO on the occasion informed that Punjab police had formulated a foolproof security plan for Eid Milad-ul-Nabi and it was being implemented in the region.

Police personnel would be deployed across the region on the designated routes of these processions, the RPO said.
