DC orders commercial buildings to pay land use conversion fee

SIALKOT, Sep 25 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Sialkot Adnan Mehmood Awan has said that under the Land Use Rules 2020, the notified list ‘A’ in the limits of Municipal Corporation, District Council, Municipal Committees Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur, all commercial buildings including shops, plazas, schools, petrol pumps, service stations and hospitals, marriage halls should be issued immediate notices for recovery of land use conversion fee.
He issued these instructions while addressing the meeting of District Planning and Design Committee Sialkot on Monday. The meeting was attended by District Officer Planning Umer Farooq, Chief Officer District Council Ulfat Shehzad, DSP Traffic Muhammad Qasim, District Officer Environment Wasim Cheema, District Officer Industries Rashida Batool, Department of Public Health, Highways, Building, GAPCO, Sui-Northern Gas including officers of the local government concerned.
The DC approved 65 cases of land use conversion in the meeting and directed the building inspectors that they should ensure immediate recovery of the fee amounting to Rs 235 million from the cases passed for land use conversion.
The deputy commissioner said flat rate of land use conversion will be applied. He said that cases that meet the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the law would be given immediate approval. Cases which are outside the scope of law should be dismissed without delay so that no case was left pending.
The DC directed the District Officer Planning that all such constructions on List A roads should be issued notices which had not deposited the land conversion fee yet.
