213 more power pilferers held in crackdown

KHANEWAL, Sep 25 (APP):Exactly 213 power pilferers are rounded up in operation launched across the district.
An official source from the DC office confirmed that recovery worth seven million rupees is made from the accused people.
A meeting regarding measures against power pilferers was held with DC Wasim Hamid in the chair. DPO Umar Farooq and senior administrative staff attended the meeting.
The DC said the district administration is fully backing the mepco campaign to take down power pilferers.
He said the aforesaid accused of power pilfering are booked with the respective police stations.
DPO said on the occasion that SHOs of the police stations were directed to cooperate with the Mepco teams to unearth people involved in power stealing.
Police are head and shoulder to succeed in the mission carried in the national interest in every nook and corner of the district, he said.
