KARACHI, Sep 22 (APP):Six ships namely, CMA CGM Ivanhoe, Starry, Chem Sea-I, Al-Jasra, LRI Charm and Oak carrying Containers, Palm oil, Chemicals, LNG, Mogas and Coal, berthed at Container Terminal, Liquid Terminal, Engro Terminal, Elengey Terminal and Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday.
Meanwhile five more ships, Big Breezy, CMA CGM Musset, Yankul Silver, Ginga Cheetah and Berden with Containers, Palm oil, Chemicals, LNG and Wheat also arrived at outer anchorage of the port during last 24 hours.
A total of eight ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them, a gas carrier Al-Dayyan left the port on Friday morning, while two more ships, Chemicals carrier Chem Sea-1 and containers ship CMA CGM Ivanhoe are expected to sail on Thursday.
Cargo throughput of 197,719 tonnes, comprising 179,019 tonnes imports cargo and 18,700 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 2,400 Containers (1,300 TEUs Imports and 1,100 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.
There are 09 ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them four ships, CMA CGM Musset, Beks Halil, Ginga Cheetah and Big Breezy and CMA CGM Ivanhoe & another ship EM Astoria carrying Containers, Wheat and Chemicals are expected to take berths at QICT, FAP and EVTL respectively on Friday, while three more container ships, APL Florida, Olympia and Meratus Jayawijaya are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday, while another containers ship, MSC Sabrina-III is due to arrive on Sunday.
