BAHAWALPUR, Sep 19 (APP): The district police have registered 218 FIRs against the suspects over the alleged electricity theft across the district here on Monday.
A spokesman for Bahawalpur police said that, following the directions of the provincial government, the police have continued a crackdown against the suspects involved in electricity theft. “The teams of the district police have been escorting the staff of Multan Electricity Company (MEPCO) Bahawalpur Office, who have been disconnecting illegal electricity connections,” he said.
He added that on the recommendations of MEPCO, the district police have registered FIRs against the suspects over alleged electricity theft. He said that District Police Officer Muhammad Abbas himself had been monitoring the crackdown launched against the electricity theft.
