ISLAMABAD, Apr 02 (APP):The Ministry of Commerce on Sunday categorically dismissed disinformation being spread through various social media platforms that an export shipment towards Israel originated from the country’s soil.
In the press statement, the ministry categorically negated the rumours that Pakistan was trying to establish its diplomatic ties through never happened trade, adding that Islamabad neither recognized Israel as a sovereign state nor it had banking relations with the latter country.
The statement from the ministry comes on the heel of the claim made by the American Jewish Congress from its headquarters in New York, which mentioned that Pakistani-Jewish businessman Mr Fishel BenKhald dispatched a consignment of Pakistan’s food products reaching to Israel.
Moreover, Pakistani customs also dispelled the aforementioned disinformation, stating that no records were found to endorse this trade with Israel from Pakistan
The statement further added that if any goods or commodities of Pakistani origin were exported through a third country, they could not be termed as Pakistan’s exports to any country which surely included Israel as well.
According to details, the deal to send Pakistani food products in an individual capacity by the said Jewish-businessman was finalized in a trade exhibition held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) recently.
The statement also asserted that Pakistan in return never received payments as banking records show no information about this transaction, calling the entire anecdote misleading and factually incorrect.
