KARACHI, Dec 29 (APP): The Board of Advanced Studies and Research (BASR) of the University of Karachi, has recommended award of 29 Ph.D. and nine M. Phil degrees.
A University official said on Tuesday that the BASR meeting was presided by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qaiser.
Candidates who are awarded M.Phil degrees are: Amjad Obaidullah from Islamic Studies, Sumayya Salim from Psychology, Uzma Saleem and Arooj Fatima from Chemistry, Zohaib Aziz from Statistics, Dr. Urooj Mehmood in Molecular Medicine, Syed Ahsan Raza in Islamic Learning, Maheen Khan in Zoology and Rida Masood in Pharmaceutics.
Candidates who are awarded PhD degrees are Zehra Batool in Biochemistry, M. Hanif Khalid in Quran and Sunnah, Ghazala Yasmeen in Physiology, Akbar Ali Jilani from ISPA, Nasreen Begum in European Studies(ASCE), Munazza Madni in Sociology, Dr. Shazia Akbar in Microbiology, Maqsood Ahmed Khan in Pharmaceutics, Rakshinda Ahmed in Zoology, Noshi Maria in Microbiology, Sardar Ahmed in Mass Communication, Tahira in Zoology, Yousra Shafiq in Pharmaceautics, Noshi Iram Zaman in Clinical Psychology, Rabia Bushra in Pharmaceutics, Amar Hussain in Political Science, Dr. Fouzia Khan in Microbiology, Zainab Bibi in Biotechnology (KIBGE), Aziz ur Rehman in Political Science, Saifullah in Molecular Medicine, Muhammad Atif Aftab in Usool-ud-Din, Seema Ashraf in Food Science and Technology, Muhammad Irfan in Mass Communication, Asif Saleem in Arabic, Gul Wahid in Islamic Learning, Naheed Begum in Genetics, Saiyada Shadiah Masood in Chemistry, Syeda Qadam Ali in Pharmaceutics and Saima Mahmood in Pharmacology.
