Japanese Ambassador Wada Mitsuhiro calls on Ishaq Dar

ISLAMABAD, Oct 7 (APP):Japan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Wada Mitsuhiro on Friday called on the federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, here, and assured his country’s full cooperation for improving the bilateral trade and economic relations.

During the meeting, Ishaq Dar apprised the ambassador on the devastation caused by the recent floods in Pakistan and its impact on the country’s economy, a Finance Ministry press release said.

The minster, highlighting the cordial relations between Pakistan and Japan, said both countries enjoy friendly relations which were getting stronger with each passing day.

“Japan is one of the major development partners of Pakistan and I firmly believe that the cooperation will further strengthen in multiple fields for the mutual benefit of both the countries,” he added.

The minister, also giving a brief overview of the economic challenges and priorities of the incumbent government and, said the government believed in enhancing the bilateral economic and trade relations between both countries.

Meanwhile, the Japanese ambassador extended felicitations to the finance minister on assuming the charge of the Finance Ministry.

He expressed sympathy on the loss of lives and properties in the flash floods and extended his govt’s support.

He further said that Japan greatly valued its bilateral relations with Pakistan and briefed the operations of the Japanese entities in Pakistan.

The ambassador expressed confidence on the economic policies of the government and said that business and economic linkages would further strengthen between the two countries.
