Relief operation to continue despite difficulties in Balochistan: Senator

QUETTA, Aug 29 (APP): Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri on Monday said that relief efforts will continue in flood-ravaged areas of Balochistan despite difficulties.

She expressed these views while talking to media representatives on the occasion of distribution of tents, rations and other relief items.

She said that there was a serious risk of spreading of diseases in the flood affected areas.

However, efforts were in place to prevent it effectively.

Senator noted that she distributed thousands of tents, ration bags, water and other relief items to the affected people in Hub, Othal, Sorab, Kinraj, Lasbela, Gadani, Zehrigoth, Khuzdar, Sorab and other areas.

Relief goods were also distributed to the flood victims in Othal and surrounding villages, including Baitham Goth, Natha Goth, Kalmati Goth, Jaman Goth, Janaramawak and Awadan Goth.

Apart from this, even today, trucks containing relief goods have been sent from Hub to Gadani, Lasbela, Othal and other areas, which will be tried to be delivered to those people who have not been reached by any kind of government or any organization.

She said that the role of Habib Bank was important in the relief and rehabilitation mission of the flood victims, which provided all possible support in our relief operation by showing generosity where needed.

Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri said that the government was speeding up the relief work in the affected areas as soon as possible for the recovery of the areas affected by the recent rains and the assistance of the victims.

She further said that Pakistan Army, FC and and other organizations are actively participating in relief activities.
