QUETTA, Jun 07 (APP): Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri on Tuesday strongly condemned the BJP’s spokesperson and its leaders’ blasphemous remarks against the last Holy Prophet (PBUH).
In a statement, the Senator lashed out at the BJP’s leaders for uttering blasphemous remarks against the Prophet (PBUH), also saying that that these uncalled, provocative remarks were causing great grief and anger in the Muslim world.
Moreover, the Senator slammed the growing Islamophobia in India being reflected by these blasphemous statements.
“It is not enough to simply suspend and remove party officials for making insulting statements,” she said, also adding that the BJP has to shun its extremist and fascist Hindutva ideology being spearheaded by the Indian PM Modi.
According to the Senator, India was found violating religious freedoms of its minorities, while oppressing them without any discrimination.
Besides, allowing such insulting statements was a serious threat to the protection of human rights, she added.
“Muslims in India are being systematically defamed and deliberately marginalized as well as their religious sentiments are being hurt,” she said.
Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri called on the Indian government to ensure that incidents based on such insulting remarks do not occur again.
She also called on the International community to take cognizance of the rights’ violations of religious minorities in India.
This heinous act of hate speech was not only an attack on the billions of Muslims living in the world, but also a clear signal to other minority nations living in India that no religion was safe from the hands of BJP goons in India, she added.
In this regard, the Senator urged the OIC to convene a session to condemn the repulsive blasphemous statement, while giving India a united message that anything against the honour of Prophet (PBUH) would not be tolerated.
She also said that since the BJP government came to power in India, it has made the life of minorities, especially the Muslims miserable.
Sentencing Yasin Malik, according to the Senator, was a proof that how the New Delhi government was deploying the fascist tactics against the Muslims in sidelining them from the mainstream.
