Minister directs AEO’s to visit all educational institutions

ISLAMABAD, Dec 26 (APP): Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD), Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has directed the Area Education Officers (AEOs) to pay periodic visits to all the educational institutions and develop School Development Plans in consultation with the heads of schools and the academic and monitoring teams.
Chairing a meeting with the AEOs, he issued them instructions regarding their enhanced role in the development plan of the education sector under the Prime Minister’s Education Reforms Program (PMERP), said a news release issued here on Monday.
The Minister said that the AEOs will play a pivotal role in assessment, planning and implementation of the future plans of CADD on education.
The Minister also directed to place the school monitoring teams under the AEOs and they will work as team leaders for the Monitoring and Training Officers.
The monitoring teams were in the field since August which prepare daily reports by visiting educational institutions and send real time information to the FDE, Minister and Secretary CADD and other relevant officers.
The information is collected under different counts which include teacher and student attendance, availability of basic facilities, security arrangements, cleanliness and civil works.
The AEOs will be the overall in-charge of the cluster of schools falling in their area.
The Minister also tasked to monitor class wise formative assessments and facilitate in achieving academic performance indicators and other KPIs for each school.
Advisor of CADD on Education, Mr. Ali Raza gave a detailed presentation to the Minister on the latest interventions of CADD and Federal Directorate of Education under PMERP.
He said that along with the Monitoring Teams, Academic Teams will also work with the AEOs to present long term, medium term and short term School Development Plans based upon special education needs.
He said that professional development of teachers was also essential to ensure better quality of education and the AEOs and their academic team will conduct Training Need Analysis of the teaching staff and support in preparing training modules for them.
