ISLAMABAD, Dec 19 (APP): Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) lawmaker Daniyal Aziz on Monday said Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) could not present any evidence of corruption, money laundering and tax evasion against the PML-N leadership and advised the PTI chief to apologize to the nation for levelling baseless allegations about general elections.
Responding to points raised by PTI’s parliamentary leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmed in the National Assembly, he said the two party leaders hurled baseless charges against the prime minister and his family.
The opposition was making point scoring on the Panama Papers issue though they were well aware that the name of the prime minister was not mentioned in them, he added.
Daniyal Aziz said the PTI and other opposition parties could not produce any evidence in the Supreme Court despite tall claims. They had no evidence to prove corruption, tax evasion and ownership of Al-Tawfeeq Bank against the PML-N leadership.
He said the PTI should apprise the august House as to how many cases were pending and against whom with the Ehtesab Commission Khyber Pakhtunkhawa when its head Gen ® Hamid was removed.Daniyal Aziz said PTI should also inform the House why deputy director general Anti-corruption department Toro was removed from the post. Deputy Director Toro had arrested people who were involved in selling of fake and spurious medicines, he added.
He called for sharing details of all the cases with this House. Hydel
fund in KPK was also plundered, he added.
Daniyal said neither there was any contradiction in statements of the Prime Minister nor in his children’s statements.
Some 52 fake cases were framed against the Prime Minister in Zafar Ali
Shah cases, he said, adding no evidence could be produced in the court of law by the opponents about these cases.
He said 17 years ago, in an interview, Hussain Nawaz had already told
BBC that they were not owner of the flats in London before 2006.
“Hussain Nawaz only repeated his statement which he had given 17 years ago,” he said.
When Panama papers issued was surfaced in April, Daniyal said PTI was demanding that the PM should come to the House and make a statement. Citing paras from the PM’s speech, he said the Premier had shared various sources from which the property was purchased.
He said the Prime Minister shared details of Gulf and Azizia Steel Mills on floor of the House.
Regarding International Consortium of Investigative Journalism (ICIJ), Daniyal said he had challenged the record and they removed the name
of the Prime Minister from their website.
He said journalist Umar Cheema also conceded that name of Prime Minister was not included in the Panama papers.
