Rabbani for further enhancing Pak-Egypt economic, political collaboration

ISLAMABAD, Dec 19 (APP): Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani
Monday said Pakistan attached the highest importance to its historic relations with Egypt and was looking forward to further enhance the economic and political collaboration through increased parliamentary linkages between the two countries.
He said this while talking to ambassador of Egypt Sherif Shaheen
who called on him here at the Parliament House.
Chairman Senate said parliamentary diplomacy had important role to play, therefore, Friendship Group at parliament should work hard to further cement the historic and traditional interaction between the two countries.
He said keeping in view, the historic bilateral relations between
Pakistan and Egypt there was a need to further increase economic ties.
The investors from Egypt could benefit from huge potential in Pakistan’s small and medium industries sector, chairman suggested.
Mian Raza Rabbani said the cooperation between the two
countries should also be increased in education and tourism sector as there was a lot of potential in these areas.
He said Al-Azhar University a one of the oldest centre of
excellence not only of Islamic knowledge but had always been among the enlightened voices in intellectual sharing.
The chairman Senate said we were looking forward for exchange
of delegations between the two countries to further boost the political linkages existing between the two countries since historic era of President Anwar Sadaat and Jamal Abdul Nasir in Egypt.
