Sports Board to sponsor bodybuilder Naveed to New Zealand

LAHORE, Dec 15 (APP): Sports Board Punjab (SBP) will bear the tour
expense of ace bodybuilder Naveed Ahmad Butt to New Zealand for his participation in the Mr Universe competition, being held next year.
This was stated by SBP Director General Zulfiqar Ahmad Ghumman after a meeting with Naveed in his office here on Thursday. The DG SBP congratulated Naveed for winning the “Natural Mr Olympia Contest” in Los Vegas, USA, recently.
Ghumman said Naveed was the pride of the nation and youth should follow his example for bringing laurel for the country by winning Mr Olympia title.
“We will support Naveed in his future endeavors and will sponsor his
tour to New Zealand for ensuring his participation in Mr Universe contest,” said DG SBP who as a token of appreciation gave a cash prize of Rs 10,000 to Naveed.
He said that the SBP was striving hard to clean the game of bodybuilding from the use of stamina and muscle building drugs. “We have zero tolerance on use of drugs in sports, specially in bodybuilding,” he added.
Naveed thanked the DG SBP for extending support to him. He widely
appreciated the efforts and the steps being taken by the SBP for the overall development of the sports and for the welfare of the sportsmen.
“I will put in more hard work to produce the desired results in Mr
Universe contest in New Zealand,” said a determined Naveed while talking to APP after the meeting.
