LAHORE, Dec 4 (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif
has said that efforts of PML N government for eliminating corruption are being appreciated at international level.
Commenting upon the report published by famous American Journal
“Foreign Policy” regarding corruption and nepotism, the chief minister
said that Pakistan was displaying better performance as compared to neighbouring country with regard to eradication of corruption which
reflects the resolve of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for elimination of corruption, says a handout issued here on Sunday.
It was worth mentioning that among 199 countries of the world, Pakistan was at 166th position with regard to ranking in connection with efforts being made for eradication of corruption while India was at 178th position which totally negates its claims of “Shining India”, he added.
Shehbaz Sharif said that better policy of transparency in government affairs, elimination of corruption and improvement in service delivery was resulting in better image of the country at world level.
He said that the report of Foreign Policy verifies the report of
Transparency International in January 2016 regarding efforts of the government of Pakistan for eradication of corruption.
He said it was worth mentioning that Pakistan is the only country
of south Asia, making successful efforts for eradication of corruption.
Verification of success of government efforts for elimination of
corruption by a World Renowned Institution was very important which clearly stated that attitude of zero tolerance against corruption from lower level to upper level was yielding better results, he added.
The chief minister said Pakistan s’ better performance for eradicating corruption was a proof to the fact that if we could take lead over India then why we could not defeat India in other matters.
“Our nation is fully talented and is capable to overcome all sort of difficulties”, he added.
He further said that the situation of Pakistan has improved considerably as compared to 2013 and we were fully capable to defeat the pponents in every field, as a result of continuity of strong and stable political environment in future, he maintained.
