6th NH&MP Inter Zonal Sports festival begins

LAHORE, Nov 27 (APP): The 6th Inter Zonal Sports festival of the National Highways & Motorway Police started at the NH&MP Training College, Sheikhupura, on Sunday.
Ten games including volleyball, basketball, football, cricket, table tennis, badminton, and shooting, shotput, tug of war and athletics are being contested.
The NH&MP teams of six zones, headquarters and training college are
participating in the week long festival, which was inaugurated by Commandant Training College DIG Khalid Mahmood. DIG Central Zone Mirza Faran Baig was also present on the occasion.
The festival was started with a colorful event, in which all teams
presented a march past with sports torch.
Khalid Mahmood said on the occasion that sports activities always play an important role in community and society building. This time the sports festival is being organised to commemorate the NH&MP Raising Day, he added. He hoped that the participants will present the best example of sportsman spirit, he added.
“I am confident that in the years to come, our sportsmen will touch the peak of sports and will bring a good name to the country,”
he added.
