Minister briefed on CPEC Gwadar Port rail link project

LAHORE, Nov 26 (APP): A four member delegation, led by Gwadar Project Formulation Consultant Engineer Ejaz Hussain Khilji, gave briefing on the latest condition of feasibility study of Gwadar Basima Mastung, Basima
Jacobabad via Khuzdar besides construction of new rail link.
A special meeting regarding construction of Gwadar Port Rail Link for China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was held on Saturday at Railways headquarters, with Railways Minister Khwaja Saad Rafique in the chair.
The minister said that no compromise on the quality of this high profile project of international standard would be acceptable, adding that the project should be completely foolproof.
Saad Rafique said that a sub office of Pakistan Railways should be set up in Gwadar keeping in view this project and the best officers of different departments of Railways should be appointed there.
Regarding train operations, the minister said that all possible steps should be taken for making manned and unmanned level crossing safe.
A committee, led by Additional General Manager Infrastructure
Humayun Rasheed, was formed to formulate comprehensive strategy
in this regard. The committee would submit the report after formulating strategy in 10 days.
