Govt using all resources for development of AJK: Barjees

ISLAMABAD, Oct 25 (APP): Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Chaudhry Muhammad Barjees Tahir Tuesday said the
federal government was utilising all resources for progress and development of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The minister was talking to senior AJK minister Chaudhry Tariq
Farooq and Member Legislative Assembly AJK Chaudhry Masood Khalid
during a meeting here.

They exchanged views on the overall political situation in Azad Kashmir and unprovoked firing of India across the Line of Control (LoC).

Barjees Tahir said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had
keen interest in the development and prosperity of Azad Kashmir and he wished that exemplary work should be done to improve infrastructure and facilities of health and tourism to benefit people of Kashmir.

He assured that the federal government would fulfill all pledges made with the people of Azad Kashmir and steps would be taken to create a strong infrastructure in the area.

They strongly condemned India’s unprovoked firing on Line of
Control and targetting of civilian population and vowed to bravely
face the Indian aggression.

Chaudhry Tariq Farooq informed the federal minister about the
damaged incurred at the Line of Control and said Azad Kashmir government was making a comprehensive programme for safety of the people living on LoC.

He said all arrangements had been made for tackling any
emergency situation on the LoC.

Barjees Tahir said the courageous Kashmiris living along the Line of Control were the first line of defence of Pakistan, adding the federal government would meet its responsibilities to protect people of Kashmir.

He appreciated the steps taken by the Azad Kashmir government
for good governance and transparency in Azad Kashmir and said people of Kashmir trusted them and the government would tirelessly work to come up to their expectations.
