FAISALABAD,Nov 24 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif arrived here Tuesday on a special aircraft from Gilgit-Baltistan and held a brief meeting with local and divisional administration in the presence of parliamentarians from Faisalabad division.
Earlier, on his arrival at the airport he was received by Chief Secretary Punjab Khizar Hayat Gondal and other high officials.Prime Minister was accompanied by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Barjees Tahir, Political Advisor to PM Dr Asif Kirmani.
Later, the Prime Minister left for Jhang where he was scheduled to distribute cheques to cotton and rice growers of the district.Under the Prime Minister’s Kisan Package, some 52,574 growers of Jhang would benefit, including 40406 rice growers.
The Prime Minister would distribute financial assistance cheques amounting to Rs 950 million among the rice and cotton growers, who cultivated rice and cotton crops over 189,926 acres of land in the district.Every grower would get financial assistance at a rate of Rs 5,000 per
acre under the package.
