A view of Haveli Barood Khaana Shahi Qila. Haveli Barood Khana an 18th century haveli. It was built during the Sikh rule during 18th century by a commanding general of the Sikh Army, who used it as his house. Part of the haveli acted as an ammunition depot and part was used as a residence. It was the norm at that time to keep ammunition at the commanding officer’s house. The haveli was the largest depot outside the Shahi Qila and faced the fort directly. Currently, the haveli owned by Yousuf Salahuddin a socialite and philanthropist who resides in it. Salahuddin inherited the haveli from his family after his forefather, Mian Karim Buksh, bought it in 1870

LAHORE: May 22 – A view of Hazuri Bagh is a garden in bounded by the Shahi Qila to the east, Badshahi Mosque to the west, the Samadhi of Ranjit Singh to the north, and the Roshnai Gate to the south. In the centre of the park stands the Hazuri Bagh Baradari, built by Ranjit Singh in 1818 to celebrate his capture of the Koh-i-Noor diamond from Shuja Shah Durrani in 1813. As in the background a view of Historic Badshahi Masjid as the Masjid located on the west side of Shahi Qila along the outskirts of the Walled City of Lahore and widely considered to be one of Lahore’s most iconic landmarks.
