Pervaiz takes notice of placing GEO television on last numbers

ISLAMABAD, July 29 (APP): Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid on  Friday took notice of placing GEO television on last numbers  on cable networks in Karachi.

The government, he said, believed in freedom of expression as it considered that free speech and freedom of opinion
was inseparable from a democratic society.

Scaling down any news channel from its original position
tantamount to bar people’s access to right of information and denying them to watch a broadcast of their own choice, he added.

The Information Minister directed PEMRA to take cognizance of the matter on immediate basis.
