Lok virsa to organize Sufi night on Saturday

PAL, Gujrat University arranges Sufi night at National Library

ISLAMABAD, July 28 (APP): The National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) to organize Sufi music night at Lok Virsa media center to promote devotional music  of the Sufis, here on July 30.

Live performance of Sufi music by Saif Samejo will be held at lok virsa at 6 pm.

Saif Samejo is founder and lead vocalist of the most popular Pakistani Sufi/Folk/Rock  band The Sketches.

Executive Director Lok Virsa Fouzia Saeed said, “Passionate and ecstatic, spiritual and entrancing, Sufi music acts as a uniquely valuable bridge between East and West  reflecting the most accessible, liberal and pluralistic aspects of Islam.”

“Sufi music is the devotional music of the Sufis, inspired by the works of Sufi poets, like Rumi, Hafiz, Bulleh Shah, Amir Khusrow and Khwaja Ghulam Farid.” She said.

To attend the function audience need to buy and show the music album “You” by the sketches.

Each group of up to four persons may buy and show one CD of the album to enter the hall.
