Govt would contact opposition on Panama Papers issue: Zubair

ISLAMABAD, Jun 24 (APP): Minister of State for Privatization and
Chairman Privatization Commission Muhammad Zubair Friday said by the time the parliamentary committee on Panama papers is dormant but the government would contact with opposition in this regard.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was not evolving consensus on Terms of
Reference (ToR) on Panama Papers and its chief Imran Khan had already announced to come on roads and hold protest and sit-in, he said in a private TV channel program.

The minister said the government would inform the nation about its view point on Panama Papers. The government will also contact Khursheed Shah to know the objectives of the opposition.

He said PPP is no more a popular party in Punjab. Aitzaz Ahsan’s wife
had contested general election and just secured 6,000 votes and her opponent had obtained 1,20,000 votes. Same situation was with PPP in bye-elections.

Muhammad Zubair said if PPP would stand with PTI on container, it would compromise its political standing.

He said several PPP leaders including Sharjeel Memon were involved in
corruption as the courts have also punished one of its ministers on corruption charges.

He said not a single corruption case against present government has
surfaced during its tenure. If PML-N government was corrupt, there had been scandals against it.
