Govt focussing on reform of energy sector to end loadshedding

ISLAMABAD, Nov 3 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif
Tuesday said his government was focussing on reforms in energy
sector aimed at ending loadshedding from the country.
Talking to Chairman of the Board and CEO of the General
Electric Jeffery R. I’mmelt, the Prime Minister said energy sector
reforms were top priority of the government.
“Our team is making relentless efforts to ensure there is no
loadshedding in our tenure,” the Prime Minister said.
He said the government was working on alternate energy
projects so as to provide cheap electricity.
The PM said successful reform process has led to zero loadshedding in
the industrial sector and added that the government was committed to end loadshedding for domestic users.
Jeffery R. I’mmelt expressed full confidence in government’s
policies and said Pakistan’s foreign investment policies were among
the best in the region.
He also appreciated transparency in Pakistan government.
He said General Electric would also ensure transfer of technology in
Pakistan.
