PESHAWAR, May 18 (APP):Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Shah Farman Saturday said tribal people and their elders would be consulted while initiating development schemes and introducing new legislation and policies.

He expressed these views in an Iftaar Dinner arranged for tribal elders at Governor House.

The dinner among others was attended by the PM’s Special Assistant, Iftikhar Durrani, Speaker KP Assembly, Mushtaq Ghani, Provincial Information Minister, Shoukat Yousafzai and a large number of tribal elders.

The governor said the merger would not affect traditions and culture of tribal people, adding it would be ensured that new laws be compatible to their traditions and lifestyle.

He also highlighted the sacrifices of tribal people in war against terror and said that their role, sufferings and endurance for the cause of motherland would always be remembered.

He said Prime Minster Imran Khan was keen to initiate development in erstwhile tribal areas like other areas of the country to bring tribal people in national mainstream.
