ISLAMABAD, May 9 (APP):Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan, Thursday congratulated newly elected president of Rawalpindi-Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) Amer Sajjad.
Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan also congratulated, Asif Ali Bhatti, General Secretary and other office bearers of the RIUJ.
She said election of the new office bearers of RIUJ was manifestation of the trust of media community in their leadership.
She said that the government fully believed in constitutional right of freedom of expression and it would take all possible steps for protection of rights of media professionals and their welfare in consultation with journalists organizations.
She also expressed satisfaction over the growth of one of the most vibrant media of the world in Pakistan.
