Ramadan to begin from Tuesday as crescent not sighted

ISLAMABAD, May 05 (APP):Ramadan crescent has not been sighted anywhere in the country on
Sunday evening and the holy month would begin on Tuesday, May 7, says a notification issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and
Interfaith Harmony quoting the decision of Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
The crescent is likely to be spotted on Monday evening.
The holy Quran was revealed to holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) during the sacred month of Ramadan.
Fasting is the one of the five pillars of Islam.
The holy month would begin in Saudi Arabia, United States of America, United Arab Emirates and adjoining areas on Monday.
Meanwhile, the rates of daily use items have registered sudden increase owing to the negligence to across country district managements.
The dealers of fruit and vegetables have jumped into arena to fleece
the people.
The prices have started climbing upwards due to absence of any effective mechanism to check the hoarders and profiteers.
The district management has completely failed to check unabated fleecing of consumers ahead of Ramadan.
The inflated rates of daily item prices were being attributed by
retailers to high cost of transport, hoarding of fruits and vegetables and above all the lust of dealers to make quick bucks in the holy month of Ramadan.
