ISLAMABAD, Apr 3 (APP):Adviser to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam Wednesday said Clean, Green Pakistan is a behavioural change movement as Billion Tree Tsunami has transformed thinking in Khyber Pakhtunhkwa where after creation of Pakistan for the first time timber has been imported.
He expressed these remarks at a plantation drive organized by Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (PAK-EPA), under Clean Green Pakistan programme “Plant for Islamabad Day” kicked off across the federal capital, in collaboration with the ministry of climate change (MoCC) and Islamabad Industrial Association particularly Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He said planting a tree was rendered as perpetual charity in our religion which the people should realize and partake with the same religious fervour.
The plantation activity was carried out in the I-9 Industrial Area of the federal capital where as many as ten industries participated in the plantation campaign and had planted 2500 saplings.
However, almost all of the leading industries of the I-9 Industrial Area of the federal capital including Pak Iron, Mat Cast, Karachi Steel, Siddiquie Steel, New Mustehkum, Victory Pipe and Ittehad Steel.
Director General PAK-EPA Farzana Altaf Shah, Secretary MoCC Hassan Nasir Jamy, Additional Secretary MoCC Babar Hayat Tarar, students from various schools and universities participated in the plantation campaign.
