NA body defers three legislative proposals
ISLAMABAD, Apr 02 (APP):The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Law and Justice on Tuesday deferred three private members’ bills for further consideration and decided to constitute a sub-committee for recommendations on two legislative proposals.
The committee, which met here with Riaz Fatyana in the chair, decided to form a sub-committee to consider two bills seeking amendments in Articles 51 and 106 of the Constitution and formulate specific recommendations.
The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2018 (Amendment in Article 51 and 106) – was moved by Naveed Aamir Jeeva while the Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2018 (Amendment in Article 25B, 51, 63B, 92 and 106) was tabled in the House by Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani.
The committee also took up the Legal Practitioner and Bar Councils (Amendment) Bill, 2018 moved by Ms Aliya Kamran.
It was informed that the Secretary Pakistan Bar Council had regretted to attend the meeting due to his engagements. The committee decided to defer the bill till its next meeting.
It deferred discussion on the reports of Judicial Commissions regarding the terrorist attack on Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore and murder of judges in District Jail Sialkot.
The representative from the Home Department, Government of the Punjab attended the meeting and requested for grant of time to provide the record wanted by the committee.
Earlier, the committee offered Fateha for the mother of MNA Muhammad Sana Ullah Khan Masti Khel.
The meeting was attended by members of the National Assembly Atta Ullah, Lal Chand, Muhammad Farooq Azam Malik, Muhammad Sana Ullah Khan Masti Khel, Malik Muhammad Ehsan Ullah Tiwana, Agha Hassan Baloch, Ms Shunila Ruth, Rana Sana Ullah Khan, Usman Ibraheem, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Syed Hussain Tariq, Ms.Nafeesa Shah, Ms. Aliya Kamran, Naveed Aamir Jeva and Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani.
