ISLAMABAD, May 8 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Sunday urged the people, attaining age of marriage, to go through pre-marital screening for thalassemia to ascertain whether any of the would-be couple, carried the gene or not.
In his message to the nation on occasion of World Thalassemia Day observed on May 8, the Prime Minister urged people from all walks of life, especially the parents, planning their children to tie the knot, to encourage pre-marriage tests of thalassemia in the country.
He called upon every Pakistani to make a resolve to prevent Thalassemia in the country.
