Saudi delegation discusses arrangements made to include Pakistan into Road to Makkah project

ISLAMABAD, Apr 1 (APP):A high level visiting Saudi delegation on Monday discussed arrangements made here regarding the inclusion of Pakistani Hajj pilgrims in the ‘Road to Makkah’ project with Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Pir Noor-ul-Haq Qadri and Secretary Mushtaq Ahmed.

According to ‘Road to Makkah’ project, all immigration requirements would be fulfilled at the airport of origin. Under the project, the customs and immigration of over 90 percent Pakistani pilgrims would be completed at Pakistani airports before leaving for Hajj, to save them for waiting 10 to 12 hours, after arriving in Saudi Arabia for immigration and customs clearance, said a press release issue here.

The delegation included Director General Passports and Secretary Hajj and Umrah and Saudi ambassador delivered goodwill message of Saudi Crown Prince for Pakistani people.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had requested Saudi Crown to include Pakistan in the project. The delegation would hold meetings with other stake holders including officials of Customs, Civil Aviation Authority, Anti Narcotics Force, Interior and Foreign ministries to finalise the details of ‘Road to Makkah’ project after consultations.
