Naeemul Haq plants a sapling

LAHORE, Mar 31 (APP):Advisor to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Naeemul Haq on Sunday planted a sapling at Gajju Matta interchange here in connection with a Clean andGreen Pakistan Campaign.

Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) was continuing
tree plantation campaign in the provincial capital as per
the campaign of Clean and Green Pakistan.

Speaking on this ocassion, Naeemul Haq said, “Prime Minister
Imran Khan has decided to utilize government’s additional land for
the benifit of the people or to sale it and use that money for the development of that area.”

Federal government has 2500 acres of free land in Jallo
belonging to Evacuee Trust, if PHA takes responsibility of
developing a Changa Manga type forest on 100 acres there, it
would be a great addition in Lahore and its surroundings and
government would also try to provide financial help in this
regard.

He said the Prime Minister wanted green belt around every
city but unfortunately the green belt which had to be around
Islamabad was badly ruined in past 30 to 40 years.

Capital Development Authority (CDA) changed green belt
into housing schemes and the premier had directed the CDA to
reorganize green belt to all possible extent, he added.

PHA chairman Syed Yasir Gillani said that saplings would
be planted keeping in view the target given by the government.

He said 8,812 plants would be planted from Ashiana to
Kamah, 13,564 from Ferozpur Road to Ashiana, 14,536 plants
from Khana to Ferozpur Road, 12,000 plants from Lake City to
Haluki, 16,204 on Kanah, 11,964 plants from Raiwind to Lake
City while 77,000 plants would be planted on 21-KM Southern
Loop of Ring Road.
