ISLAMABAD, Mar 26 (APP):Federal Minister for Human rights Dr. Shireen Mazari Tuesday said that her ministry, along with other stakeholders, partners and UN organizations, was working vigilantly on different areas for protection of human rights.

Talking to media, she said the ministry was devising a plan to introduce new laws and ensure implementation of existing laws regarding human rights.

She said the ministry, with the assistance of UNDP, establishing the systematic human rights related database. The UNDP would also extend technical assistance and support for development of initiatives and systems including establishment of Information Management System for human rights database.

Dr. Shireen Mazari said that the government was committed to provide fundamental rights to all citizens of the country regardless of any discrimination.

The ministry was working on child protection act and a child protection commission would also be established, she maintained. She said all out efforts were being made to end child sexual assaults and child pornography.

She also expressed her concern over Pakistani prisoners in foreign jails, saying, the ministry was not only trying to provide them all possible legal assistance but also trying to ensure their safe return to Pakistan. The ministry of Interior and ministry of Foreign Affairs had also been asked to provide a detailed report in this regard.

She also voiced against Indian atrocities in Indian Occupied Kashmir and called it violation of international human rights laws, adding, the international community should had to play its role for resolving this long standing issue and to stop massive human rights violations there.
