ISLAMABAD, Mar 20 (APP):Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani Wednesday said with the assistance of Chinese government, two international standard football stadiums would be constructed in Balochistan.
While presiding over the meeting of the committee for the Promotion and Development of Football in the Country held here, he said the two stadiums would be constructed in cities of Quetta and Gwadar.
Not a single international standard football ground existed in the country and efforts should be made with support of the private sector to build such facilities for the promotion of the game, he said.
Sanjrani said the committee would take all stakeholders on board and would also chalk out a viable plan to bring some positive changes in the existing football structure.
The committee would make all-out efforts to put in solid recommendations for the development of infrastructure, explore talent and provide better opportunities for training to promote the game of football, he said in a statement issued here.
Chairman Senate has always taken keen interest in sports and is cognizant of the issues being faced in football. Sanjrani has also approached 50 CEOs of the country’s leading private sector companies to play their role and join hand in the efforts for the promotion of football in the country.
He said football must be encouraged at national level. Pakistan had huge potential of football that remained untapped due non-availability of proper infrastructure and other facilities, he said and added our players needed encouragement and patronage.
The meeting was attended by Senators Shibli Faraz, Leader of the House in Senate, Muhammad Ali Khan Saif, Dr. Asad Ashraf, Mirza Muhammad Afridi, Ahmad Khan and President Pakistan Football Federation Ashfaq Hussain Shah.
