Governor greets Iftikhar Malik for landslide victory in LCCI election

LAHORE, Mar 15 (APP):Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar on Friday hailed constructive development between Pakistan and India on making the Kartarpur corridor operational.
Chairing a meeting of the Religious Tourism and Heritage Committee at the Governor’s House, he said success of the first round of dialogue between India and Pakistan was a huge success, adding India should reciprocate the good-will gesture for the benefit of the world.
The govenror Punjab said Indian Prime Minister must understand that stubbornness and narrow mindedness were not beneficial to the people of India, adding that such political approach bred hatred.
Sarwar said Kartarpur corridor was a great gift by Prime Minister Imran Khan for the Sikh Community across the globe, adding the government was completing all development work on Pakistan-side of the border, urging India to fulfill its commitment. He expressed the hope that the initiative would usher a new era of friendship and prosperity.
Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood, Provincial Secretary Momin Agha, Secretary Tourism Nadeem Mehboob, and Secretary Auqaf Zulfiqar Ghumman were present during the meeting. The Committee discussed measures to promote religious tourism in the province.
Governor Punjab Muhammad Sarwar said renovation of shrines, temples, churches and Gurdwara would be undertaken immediately which would attract international tourists.
He said fool-proof security would be ensured to the religious tourists.
He expressed the will to provide rights and freedom to religious minorities as per vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
The Punjab Govenror also directed the committee to provide the best facilities to all Sikh yatrees on the occasion of the 550th birthday of Baba Guru Nanak.
