Anadolu Agency urges close cooperation with APP for credible news exchange

ISLAMABAD, Mar 12 (APP):Turkey’s Anadolu Agency (AA) on Tuesday expressed keenness to strengthen cooperation with Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) for exchange of credible news content between the two countries.

Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Director General Metin Mutanoglu of Anadolu International News Agency, who led a delegation to APP headquarters, stressed for wider collaboration between APP and Anadolu, in addition to their current news exchange agreement to match the growing needs of contemporary media scenario.

Editor-in-Chief Metin Mutanoglu and Deputy Director General Mustafa Ozkaya in a meeting with Managing Director APP Muhammad Qamarullah highlighted the working of Anadolu Agency through its global network, comprising 41 bureaus, 101 representatives and 3,500 free-lancers worldwide.
He mentioned that Anadolu Agency was addressing the problem of plagiarism by checking it through a specialized software and subsequently approaching the court for redressal.
Metin Mutanoglu offered APP to appoint its correspondent with Anadolu Agency in Ankara for better news cooperation.
Managing Director APP Muhammad Qamarullah apprised the Turkish delegation about the news agency’s service in national and local languages and said launching of news in Chinese and Persian languages was also under consideration.
He said cooperation between news agencies of friendly countries was important for getting their side of version, instead of relying on biased content of other foreign wire services.
Anadolu Agency’s International Operations Director Ural Yesil and Marketing and Corporate Communications Yilmaz Yaman attended the meeting. From APP side, Director Economic Service Bilal Thaheem and In charge Urdu News Service Hanif Sabir were present.
