Ministry plans extensive use of social media for training intending pilgrims: Minister

ISLAMABAD, Mar 8 (APP):Minister of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sahibzada Noor-ul-Haq Qadri Friday said the Ministry had chalked out a comprehensive strategy to extensively use social media for imparting education among intending pilgrims to enable them to perform the sacred religious obligation of hajj in accordance with the teachings of holy Quran and Sunnah of the holy prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
Addressing an Awareness Workshop for Religious beat reporters, he said the facebook account of Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony had over 1.5 million users. Ministry has already launched it’s official twitter account. Moreover,the successful pilgrims of government scheme would be given a Whatsapp number for registering complaints during hajj season.
The ministry has also launched Youtube channel. Anyone could get footage of ministry’s activities. Ministry was also five mobile applications (Apps) to facilitate hujjaj.
