Pakistani media performed positive, responsible role during recent Pak-India situation: Sumsam Bukhari

LAHORE, Mar 06 (APP):Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Syed Sumsam Hussain Bukhari Wednesday said that Indian media had been exposed in the world due to its self-narrated and concocted narrative.
Talking to media persons at DGPR Office here, he said that Pakistani media had performed a positive role in a responsible manner during recent Pakistan-India situation.
He paid tributes to Pakistan Armed Forces for safeguarding the geographical boundaries of the country successfully.
He said that it was imperative that media and Information department should remain on the same page with regard to national issues.
The minister said that constructive criticism by media would be welcomed by the government, adding that media should also appreciate the government on performance. To a question, he said that media and Information department should be on same page for progress and prosperity of the country, adding that media should highlight issues in constructive way.
The minister said the Information department bridged the gap between government and media. Measures would be taken for the betterment and development of the Information department, he maintained.
Sumsan Bukhari said that revolutionary measures were being taken by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government to put the country on way to progress and prosperity.
To another question, he said that party had expressed confidence on him and he would discharge his responsibilities in an effective manner.
