FM cautions world against rising Islamophobia, urges 'building bridges among religions'

ISLAMABAD, Mar 6 (APP):Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mehmood Qureshi Wednesday said Pakistan government has decided to send back its High Commissioner to New Delhi after consultations, as an effort to decrease tension with India.
Talking to media, he said a Pakistani delegation will be visiting New Delhi during
next week in connection with the Kartarpur Corridor.
He said that government has also decided to resume the weekly meetings of
Director Generals Military Operations of the two countries.
The Foreign Minister said the United States played a crucial diplomatic role in
the current situation to reduce tension between the two countries.
He thanked US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for playing a positive role in de-escalating the situation which Pakistan was facing on its eastern border.
Earlier, addressing the National conference on Pakistan-China Economic Cooperation, organized by China-Pakistan Study Center, the minister said that
China was an optimum component in Pakistan’s foreign policy.
He said that both the neighboring countries were countering the regional threats together at all fronts, be it economy or diplomacy.
The minister also commended China’s significant role in post-Pulwama incident that brought two arch-rivals at the verge of war and put regional stability at stake.
Pak-China longstanding relationship has proved to be a positive impact in regional stability, he added.
Shah Mehmood said that Pakistan government was fully committed to defend the honour and dignity of the country adding the Prime Minister Imran Khan played the role of a true statesman that was in accordance with the aspirations of the people.
He also lauded the maturity of Pakistanis during the whole situation over Pulwama incident.
Speaking on the occasion, ambassador of People’s Republic of China to Pakistan Yao Jing said that China has provided all the necessary assistance to Pakistan with regard to China Pakistan Economic Corridor.
He said so far CPEC has created 70,000 jobs for locals in the area and by 2030 this number was expected to increase immensely.
“We also encourage more Chinese companies to invest in Pakistan through CPEC as it will boost the economic condition of both the countries,” he added.
Yao Jing said, “We are interested in progress of social sector and want to invest in combating the poverty and human development.”
