ISLAMABAD, Mar 6 (APP):Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi Tuesday said that Pakistan was ready to engage with India for any dialogue to end the ongoing conflict as it always desired peace for the betterment of the region.
Talking to a private television channel, the foreign minister said Pakistan desired to sort out all issues with India which were hindering peace between both the countries.
“For how long we will play hide and seek. It is time to end all our conflicts and move towards peace,” he said and added we have scarified many lives in the war against terrorism.
He said India was misguiding its public and now Indian people were not accepting Narendra Modi’s anti-Pakistan agenda. Indian students in Mumbai and Oxford were protesting for peace in the region, he added.
Responding to a question, he said since assuming the office, his ministry had launched new forms of culture and economic diplomacy. “We are doing what is important for Pakistan,” he said and added during last six months, Pakistan had improved its relations with Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Afghanistan.
Qureshi said the foreign ministry played a very important role after the Palwama incident as it engaged Pakistan’s ambassadors and he himself talked to his counterparts in different countries.
Responding to a question, he said countries including Turkey, Jordan, Qatar and Saudi Arabia were interested to mediate between Pakistan and India.
Qureshi said all the Indian designs against Pakistan went in vain as the world had totally rejected the Indian stance.
He said consequent to the government’s efforts and effective diplomacy, the perception about Pakistan was changed in the United States.
To a question, the foreign minister said the crackdown on some outfits had nothing to do with the Pulwama attack, rather the action was already planned by the government.
About the Balakot attack, he said it was India’s greatest act of aggression against Pakistan since 1971.
