ISLAMABAD, Mar 1 (APP):Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Friday announced that he would not attend the 46th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Abu Dhabi in strong objection to India’s participation.

During the joint sitting of Parliament, the Foreign Minister said India had no moral grounds to be present at the meeting as it rejected the OIC resolutions on the Jammu and Kashmir.

“India is a country with unresolved disputes with Pakistan. India is also responsible for horrendous human rights violations of the people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir,” he stressed.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Qureshi had urged upon the OIC to review its decision to invite Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, particularly in the wake of her country’s aggression demonstrated in the last few days against Pakistan – the founding OIC member.

Foreign Office spokesman Mohammad Faisal said India had consistently rejected OIC Resolutions on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, adopted at the OIC Foreign Ministers and Summit levels.

He mentioned that only last year, India rejected the OIC Resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir by stating that “India dismisses it with the contempt it deserves.”

He said Pakistan’s strong objections in this regard had been clearly communicated.
