Inviting Indian FM to OIC pained Pakistanis: Sanjrani

ISLAMABAD, Feb 27 (APP):Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani in a meeting with Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al Zaabi Ambassador of UAE and Dr. Ebtesam Al-Kebti, President of the Emirates Policy Centre, UAE Wednesday said that Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) should review its decision with regard to inviting Indian Foreign Minister for participation in the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers as guest of honour.
He said that India has started aggression against a founding member of OIC and it becomes the responsibility for the Islamic world to not only condemn Indian aggression but also support Pakistan’s stance, said a press release. Chairman Senate said that OIC has been mandated to promote sense of brotherhood and cooperation among the Muslim countries and make efforts for safeguarding and protecting the interests of Muslim world. He said that Pakistan has always played a proactive role on the platform of OIC and worked for promotion of unity among Muslim Ummah.
However, he said that the recent development of inviting Indian Foreign Minister as guest of honour in the Council of Foreign Ministers of OIC has pained feelings of the people of Pakistan and it
is important that OIC should review its decision.
Regarding bilateral ties, Sadiq Sanjrani underscored the need to exploit the tremendous potential for economic cooperation between the Pakistan and United Arab Emirates (UAE). He called for enhancing parliamentary cooperation and linkages to achieve the common dreams for regional development and prosperity of the people.
Sadiq Sanjrani observed that both the countries are intertwined in social, religious and cultural commonalities besides extended support to each other on international fora.
Leader of the House in the Senate, Senator Shibli Faraz said that Pakistan has always worked for betterment of the Muslim Ummah and therefore, deserves to be reciprocated.
Convener of Pak-UAE Friendship Group in Senate, Senator Taj Muhammad Afridi said that
Indian aggression and violation of the LOC is highly condemnable and no moral justification can be accepted for the brutalities inflicted by Indian forces in Indian occupied Kashmir.
He said that Pakistan and UAE share identical views on international issues and OIC should protect the interests of Muslim world.
The meeting was also attended by Senator Aurangzeb Khan Orakzai.
