National Polo Championship: no play on opening day

LAHORE, Feb 26 (APP):The opening day matches of the National Open Championship for Quaid-e-Azam Gold Cup 2019 could not take place here on Tuesday due to late night rain and wet outfield.
Lahore Polo Club Executive Committee Member Saqib Khan Khakwani said the same matches will be played on Wednesday (tomorrow) and Master Paints Black and BBJ Pipes will vie against each other in the first match at 2:00 pm while Diamond Paints/Newage will take on Barry’s in the second match at 3:30 pm.He said that Master Paints Black team consists of Sufi M Amir, Ahmed Ali Tiwana, Raja Temur Nadeem and Matias Vial Parez while BBJ Pipes team comprises Mumtaz Abbas Niazi, Bilal Haye, Nicolas Croti and Ahmed Zubair Butt. On the other hand, Diamond Paints/Newage team has Alman Jalil Azam, Mir Shoaib Ahmed, Hissam Ali Hyder and Salvador Ulloa while Barry’s team includes Nafees Barry, Raja Mikael Sami, Raja Samiullah and Bautista Bayuger.
Saqib said that top five teams have been taking part in the prestigious 14-goal tournament and every team has an international player in it. The participating teams are Master Paints Black, BBJ Pipes, Master Paints, Diamond Paints/Newage and Barry’s. The finals of the tournament will be played on March 10.
