Pakistan reserves right of self-defence against Indian ‘grave aggression’: FM

ISLAMABAD, Feb 26 (APP):Terming intrusion of Indian military jet into Pakistani airspace as “grave aggression”, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi Tuesday said Pakistan reserved its right of a suitable response in line of self-defence.
Talking to media after chairing a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs soon after the incident, he said, “We consider it a violation of Line of Control (LoC).
”The Foreign Minister said Pakistan from time-to-time had cautioned the world community about India’s possible misadventure. He said Pakistan desired sustainable peace in the region while India was determined to dismantle these efforts.
He said every citizen of Pakistan would stand with its Armed Forces in
protecting the geographical boundaries of the motherland.
He said he would present the view point of his ministry at a meeting
convened by Prime Minister Imran Khan to discuss the situation.
Former foreign secretaries and senior diplomats attended the meeting.
Indian fighter aircraft intruded into Muzaffarabad sector early Tuesday morning and dropped a payload near Bamako in Azad Kashmir sector.
The attempt was thwarted by the “timely and effective response of Pakistan Air Force”, military spokesman Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said.
