ISLAMABAD, Feb 21 (APP):Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr. Fehmida Mirza on Thursday condemned the behavior of legislators of Pakistan Peoples Party in the National Assembly as they did not let her speak at the floor of the house despite being a former speaker.
Talking to media outside Parliament House, she said that PPP parliamentarians disrupted proceedings of the House when she took the floor to express her views.
She was flanked by Federal Minister for Human Rights Dr. Shireen Mazari, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Capital Development Authority (CDA) Ali Nawaz Chohan and Chief Whip Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) MNA Muhammad Amir Dogar.
She said the PPP leadership should keep in mind that she was the first female speaker of National Assembly in Pakistan and the region during their tenure and ran the house as per rules and regulations but the PPP led Sindh government took very harsh measures against her and her family.
She said they gave no protocol to her being former Speaker of the National Assembly and committed injustices to her and registered baseless cases against her family.
The minister said she knew the problem of top PPP leadership because of which they were politicizing each and every corruption case against them and their cronies.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari said PPP Parliamentarians unduly created rumpus in the house exposing themselves and their so called love for democracy.
She said NAB was an independent institution and National Assembly had nothing to do with its actions and functioning.
She urged Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leadership not to play the Sindh Card for their vested interests.
