Samar Bilour orders for audit of Information Dept’s official vehicles, attached organizations

PESHAWAR, Nov 06 (APP):Advisor to the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations, Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement, Samar Haroon Bilour, has ordered a comprehensive audit of official vehicle records maintained by the Department of Information and Public Relations and its attached organisations, seeking details of all vehicles reported missing, untraceable or unaccounted for over the past 13 years.
The directive aims to ensure transparency, accountability and the effective utilisation of public resources by identifying discrepancies in the department’s vehicle records and determining responsibility for missing government assets.
Under the instructions, relevant authorities have been asked to submit complete records of all official vehicles owned by, allocated to or currently being used by the department and its attached organisations.
The required information includes vehicle registration numbers, makes and models, and the names and designations of officers to whom the vehicles have been assigned, along with other relevant details.
Bilour has also directed officials to identify those responsible for vehicles that have gone missing or remained untraceable during the past 13 years.
She has ordered the issuance of notices to the concerned officers and directed them to produce all missing vehicles within 72 hours. She warned that failure to comply with the deadline would lead to departmental and legal action against those found responsible.
The Department of Information and Public Relations has further been instructed to thoroughly verify all records and submit a comprehensive report to her office within five days.
Emphasising the importance of safeguarding public assets, Bilour said transparency, accountability and the protection of government resources remained among the administration’s top priorities.
She said the audit was intended to ensure the proper use of official vehicles and identify any instances of irregularities, mismanagement or negligence.
