ATTOCK, Nov 4 (APP):Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday symbolically inaugurated a newly constructed house under the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar scheme on the outskirts of Hasan Abdal, expressing satisfaction over the programme achieving its target of providing 225,000 loans to deserving families.
During the visit, the chief minister met retired Havildar Aitbar Shah and his family, congratulated them on their new home and presented them with gifts. Shah told her that although he owned a plot, financial constraints had prevented him from constructing a house.
He said a loan of Rs1.5 million provided under the provincial housing scheme had enabled him to complete the construction of his home. The family expressed gratitude to the chief minister for the financial assistance.
At the chief minister’s request, the family served her traditional dishes of okra and lentils. Maryam Nawaz appreciated the meal, while Shah and his family became emotional as they expressed their gratitude.
